so the nursery set up has been put on hold! we've decided to reapply for on base military housing next month, and hope to move shortly thereafter. lets hope they can get us in the new place quickly so we have plenty of time to settle in before baby arrives :)
yay replacement piece arrived!
the top piece of our dresser (two posts down) had arrived with a chipped/damaged corner and the manufacturer was mailing us a replacement piece - and its here!! they bubble wrapped that thing like crazy and it came in perfectly in tact :) now I can finally finish assembling the dresser.
nursery wall art
I ordered this frame set off of Etsy and they arrived yesterday :) I couldn't be happier with them! The seller was amazing to work with on my custom colors order. You can check out her shop here - BeautiSHE -
Here's the frame set I ordered:
Here's how I plan to lay them out on the wall:
(excuse my rough photoshop job haha)
and here's a FREE graphic I just made to go in
one of the frames :) If you click the image it should open up larger
I created this to be size 11x14 so that size and smaller should print well :)
nursery - *before* & *during*
Sharing *before* & the starting photos of what will be baby's nursery... You may not be able to notice because of the angles of the photos below, but we've got this really annoying off center window on the right wall which should be loads of fun dealing with ;) and we're in military housing, where apparently we are not allowed to paint the walls. Major bummer!
stupid window >>
& a desk that's not sticking around
notice how much more spacing on this side...
and that wood piece (actually it's MDF - medium density fiberboard) will be a growth chart :)
and let us not forget to mention the adorable onesies one of our
grandmother's to be has already spoiled this little guy with :)
a few other baby items up on the closet shelf as well
oh yes, and the framed collage my mother in law made!
Call me crazy, but I have already ordered the nursery furniture set.. a few weeks ago actually! And get this, the crib, changing table, and part of the dresser have already been assembled!
don't mind the foam bits everywhere...
and I'm not sure that's quite where the furniture will stay yet
Unfortunately the top piece of our dresser came in with a chipped corner! Boo!!! :(
the good news: we've got a replacement piece on the way in the mail as I type! :)
all things pregnancy & blog purpose
I've decided to create a blog to document this pregnancy and the start to finish of creating baby's nursery. Part of me wishes I had started this sooner (I'm 16.5 weeks right now) but with 4 previous losses (hence the fifth time's a charm) I've been pretty skeptic to do so. Yes, you read that correctly.. FOUR losses, this is our fifth pregnancy. The first 3 were what most refer to as chemical pregnancies, blighted ovum, early losses, depends on who you're asking. All were heartbreaking, but the 4th took the cake. We thought surely I'd overcome whatever unknown fertility issues we were dealing with when we got to see a heartbeat on screen at an ultrasound at 6w5d, but I ended up miscarrying -yet again- at 9w5d. I've had about every test under the sun done to try and figure out what on earth kept happening, but have gotten nowhere really. I did come up positive for MTHFR - homozygous (meaning two copies) of the A1298C gene. Basically just a folic acid/folate deficiency and my RE(reproductive endocrinologist) prescribed an extra 4mg folic acid and 81mg aspirin daily in addition to my prenatal vitamins. The RE I was seeing, and the perinatologist I saw after moving to Arizona at around 8 weeks seem to be in agreement that this alone would not have caused the losses. However, here I am.. 16 + weeks -still pregnant- and the only thing different is the brand of progesterone I was on this time, and the added folic acid. Who knows? Maybe it did something.. maybe it was just finally our turn.
Anyway, enough about that.. but feel free to ask questions about our struggles with it all if you are curious. I'm definitely open to discuss as I don't think fertility issues are as "out in the open" as they should be a lot of the time.
Our most recent ultrasound at 13 weeks 4 days
